Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a neuromodulation technique used primarily to treat persons suffering from anxiety disorders.  Our highly trained technicians at the TheraMind Center of Newport Beach use neurofeedback to treat ADHD, general anxiety and other similar issues in adolescents and adults.

About neurofeedback

Neurofeedback, also known as electroencephalogram biofeedback (EEG), is a neurotherapy primarily used to treat anxiety disorders.  EEG sensors placed in several locations on the scalp measure brain activity in real time and that activity is displayed on a computer monitor.  Such visual representation allows the patient to perform exercises which “train” the brain to strengthen its response to certain stimuli and thus reduce anxiety.

Safety

Neurofeedback is safe, non-invasive, drug-free and does not require any down time after a session.  Thus, patients are able to return to their regular daily activities immediately following treatment.  Treatments usually last about 25 minutes in total and a typical course of neurofeedback consists of 20 – 30 sessions with one session being received per week.
